my workout today

there is a bike path about 10 minutes from my house. it goes from my hometown through about 4 others i think. im not sure how long it is...at least 7 miles though because i once did a 14 mile run on it. but its nice on the weekends, because i dont have to be afraid of being abducted, there so many families are on it on saturdays. (most of it is through the woods and i see hardly anyone during the weekdays). and because there are no cars to run me off the road.

but today was different. first, there was a random 5K on about 1.5 miles of it. i dont know about you guys, but i cant be in the middle of the race, racing or not, and not throw down the hammer. so here i am, cutting off half the course, and sprinting down the bike path, 16 minutes into my 90 minute run.
fantastic! only 74 minute of post lactic threshold bliss to go. (i kid, it actually wasnt THAT bad)

i get to the turn around point, 45 minutes in, and start running back. this way is all uphill. the entire thing, no joke. anyways, so im running and a MOTORCYCLE is flying up behind me. i was not pleased. a) it is a NO MOTORIZED VEHICHLES rail trail. b) he almost skimmed my left side because he decided to pass me on this super narrow bridge. c) he was a COP!

and the trail was consumed by slugs! way gross!

anyways 10 miles down and 3 more to go this afternoon.
